Islamabad, May 6 (IANS): Pakistani authorities have signed a MoU with Germany-based auto giant Daimler AG for the production of Mercedes-Benz trucks in the country, the media reported.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the local assembly of these trucks will mark a major shift in the domestic logistics and transportation industry towards the European manufacturers, reports Dawn news.
Ralf Forcher, Head of Sales for Daimler AG, said: "Pakistan's infrastructure and construction sectors have registered significant growth in recent years, having a direct effect on the logistics industry as it gives rise to an increased demand for commercial vehicles."
