Traffic density has increased multi fold on Mani puttur Sullia road due to shiradi ghat closure. Frustration increasing and lack of patience leading to accidents. Long queues of vehicles due to slow moving trucks and buses that refuse to let cars pass leads to frustration. Need of the hour is patience. RIP to the deceased.

Here we go again, we can RIP these casualties until cows come home and the carnage will not stop, there will be more fatalities and loss of precious lives unless a fundamental change in driving habits occurs.

Our roads are not safe and not compatible to the driving habits of drivers. It is time to educate our drivers. While we wait for the miraculous upgrade to the infrastructure to happen, our citizens need to be educated and reminded repeatedly of the hazards of careless driving. It is incumbent on the government to hold traffic safety days, weeks, months and even if it takes to impose the will. Posting awareness bill boards on the highway with traffic fatality statistics, utilizing the media to highlight hazards of driving on potential bad roads might help. Dr. Larry Brilliant an American Physician with the support of Indians was able to wipe out small pox in India in 1970’s which killed and maimed thousands of people, we certainly can make a difference in reducing the loss of lives to traffic fatalities with such will and devotion

Accident is a major killer on the road. Lot of life is lost. Airbags for driver and passenger is must. What is the point in providing cheaper vehicle with zero safety. If the life is lost, who will provide the family left behind. Media should regularly campaign road safety awareness. License of Rash drivers should be confiscated and make them to go through compulsory training.

Heartfelt condolences to family of Gayatri. May her soul Rest In Peace.

The need of the hour to have very strict Speed Limits in place and Cops should monitor and penalize all offenders. With Gadgets available in plenty , it just takes the will to implement laws .

We cannot afford to lose such precious lives which can NEVER be replaced.

    RIP Gayatri .
