Puttur: Two dressed as policemen abduct man - victim found in hospital

Puttur, Mar 29: A woman filed complaint in the police station at Sampya here, alleging that two persons who visited the couple's house have abducted her husband. The complaint was filed on the night of Tuesday March 27. The police, who took up investigation, have come to understand that the man in question has since been hospitalized.

Saumya, wife of Sridhar from Kutyady in Ariyadka village said in her complaint that her husband was kidnapped at about 9 pm on Monday. She said that herself and her son were at home when two persons in police uniforms called Sridhar out. When Sridhar came out, they told him that they had come from Sampya station and asked him to accompany them to the station. Sridhar went with them, Saumya stated.

When she made inquiries at the police station the next day, she was told that the police had not summoned Sridhar. There is no clue why he was abducted. Police circle inspector and sub-inspector visited the house of Sridhar on Wednesday and began investigation. In the meanwhile, it is gathered that Sridhar was found admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru. He stands admitted as inpatient, and the police now plan to question him.
