Mangaluru, Mar 21: St Ann’s College of Education (Autonomous), commemorating platinum jubilee of the institution, had organised a day-long seminar for BEd students of Mangalore University on the topic ‘Innovation in Curriculum Transaction’ on March 20.
The programme began with a short inaugural function. Prof John Edward D’Silva, associate professor in Maths and vice-principal, St Aloysius College, was the chief guest. In his address, Prof John congratulated St Ann’s Institutions for making a hallmark in quality and standing tall among any other institution in bringing out the best teachers. In his message he recalled examples from the past where the education system received has molded him into the person who he is today.
Three important sessions were conducted by Dr.Vjaya Kumari S N, associate professor on the topic ‘Research Project at School Level’ , Dr Flosy C D’Souza, associate professor on the topic ‘Classroom Management Techniques’ and Sumangala Nayak, lecturer, DIET, Mangaluru on ‘Preparation for Competitive Exams: Department of Public Instructions’. The seminar focused on the use, importance and need for innovations in curriculum deliverance.
Eighty students from various colleges of education attended the seminar and acquainted themselves with new ideas and zeal for improvement. Rose Kiran Pinto, assistant professor, St Ann’s College of Education compered the programme. Dr Sr Clare, principal welcomed the gathering. Laveena D’Sa, assistant professor and convener rendered the vote of thanks.
