Addressing the gathering, Dr Aloysius Paul said, “We started this institution 20 years ago with a vision of giving technical training to poor students. Hundreds of students have received training here and are now working in various parts of the world as professionals. Many have started their own firms and achieved success in their lives. It is not easy to run an institution, especially related to technical education. But Fr Filides Pinto, who was the founder director, laid a strong
foundation for this institution. Later, Fr J B Crasta made this institution more popular by introducing a variety of courses. Now, Fr Andrew is looking afer the affairs of this institution. I thank all directors who rendered their service for this institution.”
Jeevan Saldanha said, "Today, the entire world runs with the help of technology. Every moment of our life, we depend on technology. Everyone has a basic knowledge, but in the industrial world, more training on a specific trade is required. Thousands of industries are looking for trained students for their firms. ITIs are major contributors of employees for these firms.
“St Joseph ITI was started for poor students by Mangaluru diocese. Without expecting any profit from the past twenty years, it is engaged in rendering technical education to students. I am thankful to the bishop of Mangaluru and the director of this institution, because they are not only giving education, but by training students, they are bringing a new ray of hope in poor families,” he said.
The bishop was felicitated by director and dignitaries. Fr Anil recited the citation. Fr Andrew D’Costa welcomed the dignitaries and gathering.
