The minister said that on an average, one to two percent students had absented from examinations this year. He added that this time, the number of valuation centres has been increased to 53 from last year's 42. 23 of these centres will be located in the city, eight in Mysuru, three in Dharwad, two each in Shivamogga, Davanagere and Kalaburagi, seven in Mangaluru and six in Belagavi.
He said that due to taking strict measures like randomization of examination centres, CCTV cameras, identity cards to supervisory staff, GPS fixation to vehicles carrying question papers etc, examination irregularities have fallen drastically. Only 16 students were debarred this time, he stated.
He said that SSLC examination will begin on March 23 and end on April 6, and its result will be out during the first week of May. This time, supplementary examination for second PU will be held during last week of May, he said.
Sait also said that as per the opinion given by the committee of experts, all the students who tried to solve a confusing question in physics question paper will be given five marks. He said that if the committee so recommends, grace marks will also be given for English subject.
