Mangaluru, Feb 28: The inaugural function of ‘Envision 2018’, a national level techno-cultural fest was held on February 20 at Srinivas Institute of Technology (SIT), Valachil, Mangaluru.
Vidyaranya Kollipal, senior manager, HR Mphasis, Bengaluru was chief guest of the function. The function was presided over by CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University and president A Shama Rao foundation. Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor, Srinivas University, and vice-president, A Shama Rao foundation was the guest of honour for the function.
Vidyaranya Kollipal, in his address to the students mentioned the importance of such techno-cultural fest to make their identity in the society by exposing their technical skills and cultural talent.
CA A Raghavendra Rao in his presidential address mentioned the importance of such techno cultural event which is the platform for the students to show their talents so that students can get through the campus placement easily. Also in his address mentioned that being an engineering student, it is the student responsibility to make use of national resources in the proper way to develop the country and make the country to emerge in the world.
Dr Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal of the college and president of the function, congratulated the members who actively coordinated for the ‘Envision 2018’ and quoted that the fest is introducing new events every year as per students’ innovative ideas to update their knowledge. Prof Jayaram Thumbe, convenor of the programme briefed about the history of ‘Envision’.
Shivani Bhat, organising secretary of ‘Envision 2018’ welcome the gathering and Ganesh Thammaiah, organising secretary of ‘Envision 2018’ delivered the vote of thanks. Emi Thampi and A V Sooraj compered the programme.
