Mangaluru, Feb 22: ‘Children are a treasure of hidden talents and New ideas’. This saying was proved right by an ‘Art and Craft’ exhibition which was organized at Lourdes Central School on Thursday, February 22 under the dynamic leadership of Thyagaraj the art teacher and Sandhya. It was an involvement of all the artists of the school by displaying their exhibits through glass painting, spray painting, water painting, collage and best out of waste.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Fr Robert D’Souza, the principal by giving an artistic touch to a nature painting on the board. Vice-principal Belita Mascarenhas also joined in painting the picture.
The importance of the day was delivered by Heba, a student of Class 8. She brought in the benefits of drawing and appreciated the history of art and craft.
The principal congratulated the students and lauded the efforts of the teachers for the innovative work done and said that art improves the child’s ability in expression and feeling. The vice-principal addressed the students and encouraged the non–artists to develop interest for art as it could be a help for their daily living.
The exhibition was open for all the students to view. Each class took turns to view the paintings and craft exhibited. The comperes of the day were Nupur and Aksha from Class 8.
Vanitha Patole and Aruna Periera helped out the students in displaying their creativity.
