Mangaluru, Feb 18: Amanda Wilfred, clinical education manager, CAR Healthcare Academy, inaugurated ‘USIMCON – 2018’, a three-day international healthcare conference on ultrasound simulation on the theme ‘Minimizing Healthcare Errors through Ultrasound Training’ organized by Father Muller Simulation and Skill Centre (FMSSC), a unit of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, here at its Decennial Memorial Hall on Saturday, February 17.
Addressing the gathering, Amanda Wilfred said, “This is my first visit to India and I was bit nervous. Father Muller has an amazing and professional team which is the reason behind its success as they always prefer to work together. Father Muller Institution deserves rich appreciation.”
Father Muller Medical College administrator Fr Ajith Menezes along with other dignitaries unveiled the magazine ‘Mullersim’.
In his presidential address director of FMCI Fr Richard Coelho said, “In rapid healthcare environment, there are many challenges. To face the challenges, healthcare personnel will have to be prepared or else will lag behind. Health care system focuses mainly on patient care and safety. Radiologist diagnosis plays a prime role in patient care these days. We have simulation based medical education and nursing education to give element based teaching methodology to medical students. Role of diagnosis cannot be undermined in such a scenario. Ultrasound base simulation has taken a prime place today. This conference focuses mainly on minimizing healthcare errors through ultrasound training. Certainly in healthcare sector, error happens due to negligence, lack of skills and carelessness. Radiologist diagnosis play a very imp role as healthcare environment is changing all the time. I hope that all participants benefit through the conference here.”
Dr Jayaprakash Alva, dean, Father Muller Medical College welcomed the gathering, Dr Rithesh Joseph D’Cunha, administrative in-charge, FMSSC, rendered the vote of thanks.
