Bengaluru, Feb 13: According to a latest report of Association for Democratic Reform (ADR) on the 31 chief ministers in the country, CM Siddaramaiah has no criminal cases registered against him and stands sixth in list of wealthiest CMs with assets valued at over Rs 13.61 crore.
The survey by ADR indicates the wealth of the chief ministers, who is the youngest and the oldest among them, what are their educational qualifications and the criminal cases registered against them.
While Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is the wealthiest with Rs 177 crore in the country, Tripura chief minister Manik Sarkar with wealth worth Rs 26 lac occupies the last place.
Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu with wealth of Rs 129 crore is in second place. Punjab CM Amarinder Singh has a wealth of Rs 48 crore and occupies third position.
Tripura chief minister Manik Sarkar is the first among poor chief ministers. His wealth is Rs 26 lac. West Bengal chief minister Mamatha Banerjee with the wealth of Rs 30 lac stands second. Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti is in third place with wealth of Rs 55 lac.
CM Siddaramaiah who stands sixth in wealth had stated that his wealth as Rs 5.15 crore when he submitted his nomination papers in the 2013 elections.
Out of 21 chief ministers, 65% chief ministers do not have any criminal cases registered against them. As much as 26% of the chief ministers have serious cases pending against them. No cases are registered against Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah.
Out of 31 chief ministers, three have passed 12th standard, 12 of them are graduates, 10 of them have professional degrees, five have post graduate degrees and one has passed doctorate.
