Mangaluru, Jan 12: Home minister Ramalinga Reddy on Friday January 12 said that both Hindu and Muslim right-wing outfits that try to spark violence among people should be banned.
He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony to lay foundation for police quarters at Shaktinagar here.
Commenting on recent incidents of assault and murders in the district, he said, "In Dakshina Kannada, the Hindu right-wing and Muslim right-wing organisations are becoming hyperactive. Citizen hate these organisations. A time will come when people rise against these organisations.
"If the question of banning these organizations arises, then both Hindu and Muslim right-wing organizations who engage in disrupting peace of society should be banned. Both are busy in creating unrest in society.
"During BJP government's regime, these organisations got freedom to do anything against the public interest. But now we have succeeded in controlling them," he said.
"In the Dhanya case, the direct involvement of BJP and Yuva Morcha has been proved. Paresh Mesta's father says his son was not a member of any political party, but BJP itself is saying was their party worker. They are doing this to spark violence. Then shows their double standards. Police did a very good job in Deepak and Basheer murder cases. Our police have succeeded in controling communal violence in the state," Reddy said.
