Bengaluru, Jan 11: The BJP, which has created the catchy slogan, 'Ee Baari BJP Sarkaara' for the assembly election, is set to popularize it by getting it predominantly painted all over the state. It is gathered that party's national president, Amit Shah, has asked this slogan to be painted in at least five spots within the limits of every polling booth in the state. At the same time, as he is feeling let down by the leaders on account of their failure to get work done at the booth level to his expectations, he said he has already asked party workers from other state to work at the grass root level and provide him feedback before February 10. Shah hopes to win this election by giving responsibility to party workers rather than leaders.
Addressing party's people's representatives including MPs, MLAs, MLCs and district presidents, heads of party morchas and other office bearers at a private resort on Tuesday evening, Shah, it is said, handed over a programme enlisting 19 points towards preparing for the coming election. His main thrust is to lay emphasis on booth level management, organizing of booth committees, Page Pramukhs, giving the responsibility of five booths to an in-charge, creation of WhatsApp groups of these committees among others for effective interaction.
Shah has got secret information that some second rung leaders of the party are not working to the level expected because of adjustment politics with other parties. It is said that as per report Shah has got from allover the state, state BJP does not have a leader of the stature who can attract votes from a particular community, other than Yeddyurappa. Therefore, he has planned to give responsibility for assembly constituencies to young leaders. He has asked the concerned to provide to him likely number of voters from each booth with a leaning towards BJP. For want of enough leaders who are ready to really work hard, he feels that strong organizational strategies alone can bring back his party to power in the state.
It is said that Shah has chosen BJP national organizing secretary, B L Santosh, for implementing his plan to strengthen cadres. Although he dropped enough hints at a meeting held on Wednesday about this plan, he has taken care to see that there is no clash of interests as Santosh faces some opposition from within the party, it is said.
Shah, while agreeing that the task he has set for the BJP leaders and workers is tough, promised them that if his strategies are properly implemented, there is no doubt that BJP will form the next government in the state. It is learnt that after he appointed Page Pramukhs each of whom will take responsibility for one page in the voters list, he has received reports from 180 constituencies through email. He asked in-charges of the other 44 constituencies to send reports within a week.
During his address, Shah also chose to snub some of the participants who came up with certain suggestions, which they felt, would benefit the party.
BJP has decided to segregate 224 constituencies into five segments, which will be overseen by union ministers, Prakash Javadekar and Piyush Goyal, BJP national general secretary, P Muralidhar Rao, BJP Karnataka in-charge, D Purandeshwari, and national joint organizing secretary, B L Santosh. These five leaders will function directly under Amit Shah, who has advised the party leadership to speak about corruption cases in Congress government.
