Dubai, Jul 10: A drug smuggler has been detained at Dubai International Airport, after 938grammes of heroin capsules were found inside his body. The man was travelling from an Asian country when inspectors stopped him. Officials observed the man acting suspiciously and ordered him to be scanned by an X-ray machine. The results showed strange shapes inside his stomach, which transpired to be 98 capsules filled with heroin.
The smuggler is now being held by Dubai Police’s drug-fighting unit. A Dubai Customs spokes-man said that smugglers are increasingly using a capsule which is not affected by stomach acid, as it can be transported with less chance of breakage.
