Chitradurga: Two die, another injured, on account of Selfie addiction

Chitradurga, Oct 20: Two young men, who were trying to take Selfie, fell down into flowing water and lost their lives. The incident happened at a hill named Megala Kanive Betta near Molakalmuru in the district on Thursday October 19.

The deceased were N T Venkatesh (23) and Honnuru Swamy (26), both from Rampura village. Another youth, Shivappa, also from Rampura, who suffered serious injuries, is being treated at Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital at Ballari.

Whenever it rains heavily, water flows beautifully in the hill stated above. There is a waterfall which comes alive only during the rainy season. All the three men, who are from Rampura, had visited the hill to see the beauteous spot. All the three together were trying to take a Groupie, when they slipped from the rock on which they were standing on account of fungi growth.

Venkatesh who fell into the flowing water died on the spot. Honnuru Swamy died after sometime since he was admitted into the hospital at Ballari. Shivappa continues to be treated at the above hospital.

Venkatesh was a postgraduate student while Honnuru Swamy was degree college student.

    These two dug their own graves by taking a selfie. The other idiot just missed it. They should have better known very well by now how many have lost taking selfies with deaths just behind them. Anyway, let them rest in peace and wish a speedy recovery of the one injured.
