Mangaluru, Oct 13: Yuva Brigade leader and orator Chakravarthy Sulibele on Friday, October 13, condemned the alleged abusive language used by urban development minister R Roshan Baig.
It may be recalled, Roshan Baig at a general meet of the Congress party at Pulakesi in Bengaluru, had allegedly used abusive language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that people who were praising him after elections were 'cursing' him for demonetisation.
Sulibele said, "This is shameful. The words Roshan Baig used do not suit a man holding a respectable position. He also linked PM Modi with a woman. He used the words 'Gujarati' and 'Marwadi' to directly insult people belonging to these communities."
"District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai used some bad words against me last month. But I ignored the incident. I feel that these people are using such abusive words against their opponents as a pre-planned agenda. However, the Prime Minister does not represent any party. He represents the nation. So we will start a campaign against Roshan Baig for his comments on PM Modi," he added.
"We have planned the campaign #Iammodi. I invite everyone to join this campaign. Roshan Baig with his bad language has insulted our state. Now the entire nation will think that all Kannadigas use abusive language," he said.
"I came to know that some are going to file a complaint against the minister, but we will not be doing this. We will hold nationwide campaign #IamModi. Criticism is allowed by the Constitution, but insulting one on a public stage is a grave offence," he said.
