Mangaluru, Oct 13: District Congress Committee president Harsih Kumar said on Friday, October 13, that K K Manjunath is the official candidate from the South West Teacher’s constituency for the Legislative Council elections in the state to be held in June 2018.
Addressing mediapersons at the Congress Bhavan, he said, “Manjunath is a teacher. He represents Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and Channagiri and Honnali taluks of Davanagere. He had contested the previous elections too. He was defeated by few votes due to BJP’s foul politics.”
“BJP, even this time, is trying to spread fake news saying Manjunath is not the official candidate of Congress. We expect the teachers, not to fall into the trap of the opposition as they are comong with fake news and promises,” he said.

The formation of a pay commission is the achievement of our government in the state. BJP did nothing for the betterment of teachers,” he stated.
“The NDA led government has completely failed to provide healthy and nutritious food for children in the country. India now stands 100th in the list of countries with lack of healthy food. Three years ago, were placed 51st,” he concluded.
