Vijay Mallya gets bail soon after arrest in money laundering case

Updated

London/New Delhi, Oct 3 (Deccan Chronicle): Liquor baron Vijay Mallya, who is wanted in India for defaulting on loans worth Rs 9,000 crore, was arrested in London on Tuesday but was granted bail soon after.

Mallya has been granted bail by the London court.

Mallya was arrested for the second time in 2017 in the UK, in a case of money laundering.

Earlier in April, Mallya was arrested by the London police but was granted bail on the same day.

India had given a formal extradition request for Mallya as per the Extradition Treaty between India and the UK through a note verbale on February 8.

Mallya went to Britain in March 2016 after being pursued in courts by banks seeking to recover about Rs 9,000 crore owed by his Kingfisher Airlines.

Mallya has repeatedly refused to appear before courts and investigators in India since he secretly fled to UK in 2016, after defaulting on loan payments to state-owned banks and allegedly misusing the funds.

He is not a cheater. Eventhough he agreed to pay a sum of Rs.6000 crores these bank people did not agree. Why they have rejected his offer? So Genjila Ijji genjik pad-dina Kailaa ijji. Ancha athnd paristhithi. So who is responsible for this? Make Bank people responsible. Why they waive loan amount of other parties who are sound enough to repay the loan. Why this step motherly treatment? So V.Mallya has got the capacity to do anything here afterwards and he will never come back to India. Thats sure.

In 2018, assembly polls will be held in Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan and Tripura.

One of the main poll promises for BJP in 2014 Lok Sabha elections is to bring back 'black money' and 'corrupt free' India.
The willful defaulter Mallya left India is one of the biggest embarrassment for the party. BJP wanted to make this issue as its success in the coming assembly elections.
This type of issues will divert the citizens attention from failed 'Demonetisation' and 'botched GST' and bankruptcy of nationalised banks.
At the same time it will continue to give humanitarian assistance to Lalit Modi, shield its corrupt Chief Ministers and Bellary Reddy's happy with bail.

I worked about 40 years in Banking service..... Sanction of big loans only by higher authorities or influenced by big politicians. How Banker will tell that he robed the banks..... Loan was given by them after taking some commission or approved on the basis of some higher authorities.... Why can't Indian Government take action against these people???????

It is not a surprise that Vijay Mallya got bail soon after his arrest in the money laundering case. Maybe his case is not that strong for the London court.

The extradition is by a note verbale which doesn't carry much weight but enough for blind Bhakts to go crazy. Only if people vote for BJP and BJP wins then only Modi will bring back the fugitive Mallya and then every body will get 15 lakhs with arrears and all the black money will be brought back to India. That is the BJP Promise. The burning of PM is still pending as he vowed " Burn me if you don't see the economy improving after the implementation of Demonitisation within 50 days". GDP is the proof to do the needful to the PM.

Who sanctioned his 9000 cr loans when his ventures were booking losses year on year ??

What were the great economists Raghuram Rajan, Chidu, Manmohan doing when SBI, PNB, IDBI cleared such loans? Definitely RBI would have been in the loop. Was there an invisible hand of the then defacto ruler madam ?..

All Modi baiters, please come clean & explain what you were doing when so much financial hara-kiri was happening......

Who let him to fly outside India, When "Superstars"? like Modi and Jootley were ruling at the centre. or Was it Remote Control from Nagpur stopped them. If they are so much keen on recovering then since last 3 years what is that stopping the Govt from taking action against the Directors of the Bank for sanctioning the loan. Of all when he is ready to repay 6000 Crores the principal sum that had been taken. What is stopping the Govt/ Banks from accepting the "One Time Settlement" permissible in law.
SBI could have collected that money instead of charging the poor people the fine for non maintaining of minimum balance.

Just dont blindly blame the earlier govt's (your own leader Yashwanth Sinha said). But open your eyes and see it your Govt who is playing brain washing you.

Don't blame Mallya . He has given open statement that he is ready to pay Rs.4500.00 Crores out of Rs.6000.00 Crores., which he has taken.

Now golden question - Who has swallowed Rs.1500.00 crores...???
Where & Which bank it was channeled.....????
Why UPA Central Minister supported loss making Jet Airways instead of Profit making ( Break even) King Fisher...???? and made Mallyas life miserable ...??????
Why UPA Central Govt not allowed King Fisher to import low priced Aviation Fuel ....?????
Why UPA Central Govt shown its double standard to King Fisher......?????
