Dubai, Sep 23: An obscene gesture towards an Asian national landed a British man in big trouble. The Dubai police on Friday, September 22, confirmed that the British national has been questioned about the road rage that ensued on him showing the middle finger to the Asian man.
Back in February, when AG the Asian national, was driving with his wife and children on Al Khail Road in Dubai, British national JA, flashed his middle finger at him. AG filed a complaint at the police station but to no avail, as the Britisher had moved out of the country by then.
Later, in September, when the British national landed back in Dubai, the police arrested him at the Dubai International Airport. AG was called to settle the matter amicably, but he refused to let the matter go. The Dubai police in a statement said that the complainant considered the gesture an insult in front of his wife and children.
As the complainant refused all attempts to amicably reconcile, the case was recently referred to the Dubai Public Prosecution.
Dubai police assured that all visitors, expats and citizens were equal before law and reiterated its commitment to transparency in such cases.
