Mangaluru Sep 20: Home minister R Ramalinga Reddy inaugurated south traffic police station here at Naguri on Wednesday September 20.
Ramalinga Reddy received guard of honour and later unveiled the plaque of the new south traffic police station.
South traffic police station has the jurisdiction of Ullal, Konaje, Kankanady town and Mangaluru rural.
At present Suresh Kumar from east traffic is the in-charge of south traffic police station.
The new south traffic police station is the 4th station within the Mangalore Commissionerate, east traffic at Kadri, west traffic at Bunder and north traffic at Suratkal are the other three traffic police stations.
ADGP Alok Mohan, IGP Hemanth Nimbalkar, police commissioner T R Suresh, DCP Hanumantharaya, district in-charge minister Ramanath Rai, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, minister for food and civil supplies U T Khader, MLA Moideen Bava, MLA J R Lobo, deputy mayor Rajneesh, ADC Kumar and others were present.
Earlier arrived in Mangaluru airport from Bengaluru.
MLA Abhaya Chandra Jain, Minister UT Khadar, Sudheer Kumar T K and Mithun Rai with others welcomed him.
Sairam, president of the administrative committee of Kudroli Temple, Padmaraj, member gave invitation to the minister for Kudroli Dasara celebration.
Nagarika Horata Samiti members also met home minister at airport and submit a memorandum to him for withdrawal of cases which registered on them during the various protests.
From there he left Moodbidri for inauguration of fire force station.
