Mangaluru: Prostitution in apartment in Yeyyadi - four arrested, women rescued

Udupi, Sep 19: Police on Monday September 18, raided an apartment in Yeyyadi here which was allegedly used for prostitution. They arrested four persons and rescued young women.

Apartment owner Usha Naik, Shakira from Attavar, Sunitha from Jeppu and Maroli Seetharam are the persons arrested. A person named Harish managed to flee from the place.

As per available information, Shakira and Sunitha ran the prostitution at Usha Naik’s apartment. Harish and Seetharam brought clients to the apartment.

The police personnel from Kadri police, who got credible information about the prostitution racket, raided the place and managed to arrest four persons. The number of women recued is not known.

Police inspector Maruti Naik with PSI Harish, ASI Janardhana, police constables Prashanth Shetty, Ashith Kiran, staff Jyothi and Ajith Mathew were involved in the raid.

A case stands registered at Kadri police station.

    Those who support legalizing prostitution to reduce rape cases, note that there is a rape that takes in every 5 MINUTES in America where even the consensual sex is also not a taboo in the society.

    Logical Reason why rape case won’t decrease even after legalizing prostitution:

    Rapists come in the category of people who has in their mindset that they can go to the extent of raping the victim and impart permanent and lifelong mental and psychological suffering in the victim. So do you think that these type of people will run to brothels to satisfy themselves at the time they tempted instantly? No. not at all. They will prefer to rape instead of having limited/ deficient/ inadequate and paid fun from brothels.

    Even if prostitution is legalized (for fun not to decrease rape cases); then also it will surely result phenomenal rise in (forced) trafficking of girls (especially minors).

    Ethical Reason why prostitution should not be legalized:

    All religions command their followers to avoid sex out of wedlock. And its in human gene that they don’t like to see their closer …… to see them active in brothels (even if they argue that it’s a way to reduce the rape cases)
    Legalizing prostitution gives the feeling that human beings are objects rather than the species created by the CREATOR who has the ability to differentiate between what is moral and immoral.

    My personal opinion is that the prostitution should be legalised. This is bound to reduce the crime rates and rapes. Take a look at Bombay. Just think what would have happened had the red light areas not been introduced and you will get the answer. A lady can very safely get out even in the middle of the night without any fear in Bombay.

    In a country where abortion is legal, why not prostitution? All men and women have a biological needs and sometimes they cannot control it due to high libido. Too much restrictions from the society and government leads to conjugal frauds. Legal prostitution should be regulated and licensed like it is done in some advanced countries. There should be strict rules and regulations to control the spread of STD. Abortion and prostitution are sins. They both are unethical, but one is legal and another is not. Why?

    Investigation should be done by Scotland Yard Police as we don't have faith in our police.
    Our police are fit for only to target the soft targets like raiding Massage parlours, Apartments...etc..

    Our country is over flowing with its huge population.There is no wrong in legalizing prostitution with scientific way.Our law makes need to make proper plan..

    Prostitution requires money, rape comes for free. Those who can afford prostitution, don't abduct relatives to rape (majority of rapes have been by known relatives), they simply walk into some den, finish their work and go away without even giving a clue about their lifestyle. And those rapes that done by strangers are from low category people, who can't afford prostitution.

    Therefore, legalizing prostitution makes no good to the society in anyway.

    Rudolf, in those countries where prostitution is legalized, the institution of marriage has no significance. They don't believe in marriage for procreation and sex but we in India hold this very institution at very high repute and regard children born out of such bond precious but in those countries adoption is normal means of a child. As such, for them hiring a prostitute for sexual pleasure is also a normal practice.

    We have a long way to go to legalize prostitution in India. Before legalizing in our country, it is imperative to implement stricter laws against human trafficking, abductions, blackmailing, illegal confinement, child labour, etc. so as to prevent those greedy money hungry pimps from taking undue advantage of innocent girls by forcing them into flesh trade.

    Where murderers / rapists roam freely, looters and property destroyers in the name of protests / acid throwers / politicians who amass huge wealth from tax payers money who do not come under law and order then why prostitution is considered and picturized as a big crime here ? Incredidble India !!! Its prostitution not rape because the ladies involved here are matured enough.

    It all depends on what is our social or political organisation believes and testifies.

    If a girl talks to the boy of other cast then 100 people come to the spot with in half an hour and beat both boy and girl and scream loudly saying that we have saved our girl. If the same girl is sold to the prostitution racket through trap and if the girl cries loudly seeking help to come out out it, none of the member from these 100 people will enter the brothel to rescue the girl.
