Mangaluru, Sep 9: "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has utterly failed in delivering schemes to the public,” said Chief Whip of Legislative Council Ivan D'Souza said on Saturday, September 9.
He also said that ‘Mangaluru Chalo’ rally organised in city on September 7 was a flop show.
Demonetisation effect
Addressing media here on Saturday September 9, Ivan D Souza said, "BJP is too dependent on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he has failed to deliver schemes to the public. People have not yet recovered from demonetisation move. Since then the GDP has drastically come down. There is constant hike in teh prices of petrol, diesel and LPG which has affected he people. They have no concern over the suicides of farmers. The Union government is not coming forward with loan waivers for farmers,”
"BJP has challenged the democracy and is desperate to get good result during the upcoming elections. When BJP was in power during 2008 -2013, they had rifts within the party. The same continues even today. People have no faith in BJP on giving a stable government,” he added.
Forthcoming election
Referring to the C-fore survey report Ivan D Souza said, "As per the C-fore report, Congress will gain 120-132 seats compared to BJP's 60-70 seats. But BJP has claimed that this report is Congress-sponsored. Then creative centre for politics and social studies conducted a survey which states that BJP will gain 113 seats and congress will gain 86 seats. This result in the report is far from reality and they have made this report just for their satisfaction. BJP is sees their dominating in forthcoming elections, but only in dream. We are confident that Congress will win the elections, because of the schemes we provided to the public and for fulfilling the promises as per manifesto,"
Mangaluru Chalo
Speaking about recently concluded Mangaluru Chalo, Ivan D Souza said, "Prior to the ‘Mangaluru Chalo’ rally they had created huge hype on the event. But during the rally they managed to gather only 3,000 to 5,000 people. That was way below their expectations. Only few local representatives took part in the rally. This indicates that people are not with BJP. People are tired of their atrocities. BJP has failed miserably to respond to the people,” Ivan concluded.
