Bengaluru, Sep 7: Karnataka’s Large and Medium Industries Minister R V Deshpande unveiled the micro website and logo of Vendor Development and Investors Summit 2017 in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Speaking after unveiling the website and logo, Deshpande said the State Government was constantly endeavouring to create conducive environment and nurture manufacturing sector in the State as MSMEs play an important role in the manufacturing sector by providing large scale employment.

In this background, the State Government has organised this Vendor Development and Investors Summit to showcase the strengths of our MSME sector to the OEMs of the country and abroad and provide them an opportunity to have business level meetings, not only during the event but even before that by registering on the newly launched website, the minister said.

He requested all the MSMEs of the State through the Associations to register themselves as early as possible and also book their stalls.

The micro Website www.investkarnataka.co.in/vdis2017/ has been developed by Government of Karnataka in co-ordination with CII, Karnataka.

The micro website provides complete information about the Summit including event details, Sessions, Exhibition, Road Shows, registration of OEMs and MSMEs for Buyer-Seller Meet and participation in exhibition.

Interested companies-OEMs and MSMEs may refer to the micro website for Exhibition details like detailed layout plan along with the space allocation for the different sectors, the coordinators and the stall booking forms etc.

This will enable companies to plan what components to display, the possible branding options and the probable quantum of business they can sign up for.

The stall booking for both OEMs and MSMEs is now open on the website.

Deshpande also urged all the OEMs of the State and also in the country and abroad to register and showcase their products in the event and improve their vendor base by interacting with most vibrant MSMEs of the State.

Karnataka’s Additional Chief Secretary D V Prasad, Commerce and Industries Department, Darpan Jain, Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director of Industries and Commerce and Presidents and Office bearers of various State level Industry and Trade Associations of Karnataka attended the function.

In line with the national cause of furthering the contribution of manufacturing to the GDP, the State Government in co-ordination with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as Event Partner and Ernst & Young (E&Y) as Knowledge Partner is organizing the Vendor Development & Investors Summit 2017 on November 23 and 24, 2017 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru, India.

Manufacturing sector has been recognized as the main engine for economic growth and creation of wealth. Vendor Development & Investors Summit programme announced by Government of Karnataka, is one of the major steps to promote manufacturing sector in Karnataka.

Objectives of the Summit:

* Provide opportunities to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase their capabilities to various OEMs
* Enable OEMs to identify suitable vendors among the MSME sectors
* Provide opportunity to the participating companies to explore the investment opportunities in the State
* Exhibition in an area of 2 lakh sq. ft. to display the products of MSMEs, Central Public Sector Undertakings (CPSUs),

State Public Undertakings (SPSUs) and Large Scale Enterprises
* Facilitate Buyer-Seller Meets, B2B meetings, B2G meetings
* Sectoral sessions on focus sectors

Focus Sectors:

* Aerospace & Defence Equipment
* Automobiles, Auto components & Electric Vehicles
* Biotech, Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices
* Agriculture & Food Processing and Machinery
* Textile and Apparels
* Innovation & Start-ups

Exhibition: 

Exhibition of products of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and MSMEs in two halls of total 2 lakh sq. ft.
The following will be the focus pavilions in the exhibition area:

* Public Sector Units/Aerospace, Defence & Space Establishments
* Automobiles & Auto components
* Biotech, Pharma & Medical devices
* Engineering, Precession & Machine tools
* Agri & Food Processing
* Manufacturing start-ups

Event Details: 

The following six Sector specific sessions covering policy interventions, strategies for enhancing eco system, road map for future growth of the sector are being held:

* Aerospace and Defence equipment
* Biotech, Pharmaceuticals & Medical devices
* Innovation & Manufacturing Start-up
* Agro and Food Processing
* Auto, Auto components & Electrical Vehicles
* Textile & Apparel
 
The MSME Conclave aims to sensitize MSMEs on financing, innovation, competitiveness, eco system, public procurement policy, quality standards, certifications, GST etc.

* B2B meetings between OEMs & MSMEs
* B2G meetings between Government and prospective Investors
* State level Awards for best Manufacturing Enterprises and Export Awards are also being presented during the Summit.

As a run up to the main event, the State Government will be holding Road Shows in the following major OEM Clusters in order to showcase the manufacturing ecosystem and investment opportunities in Karnataka.

* Chennai
* Hyderabad
* Pune
* Ahmedabad
* Jamshedpur

District Road Shows across the State have also been planned in association with Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) in order to mobilise representation of MSMEs from across the State and across all sectors and sections.
