Mangaluru, Sep 2: Spicejet passengers from Dubai to Mangaluru were in for an unpleasant surprise when they did not find their luggage at the destination airport. The flight touched Mangaluru at 7.15 pm on Thursday, August 31. On reaching Mangaluru, the passengers got to know that their luggage was missing.

The baggage was held back at the Dubai Airport when the luggage section sounded an alarm. Hence, the passengers were sent ahead, and the luggage delayed.

About 160 passengers were on board.

"As many as 50 passengers received their luggage on Friday," sources said.

    This does not sound right....how could the flight have been cleared to take off with a passenger/s on board who had checked in luggage that raised an alarm?
    Surely Dubai security would not not allow flight to leave if that were the case. If the baggage did have dangerous items with an intent to cause harm, then the passenger would have to be arrested in Dubai and not allowed to take the flight.

    SpiceJet did what they were supposed to do. They held up luggage in Dubai for the safety of everyone.
