Bengaluru, Aug 27: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has lashed back at BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa by calling him a ‘liar’ and dismissed allegations that state government “tampered with evidence” pertaining to the suicide of DySP M K Ganapathi.
“Yeddyurappa never speaks the truth. He always lies... Can I reply to all that he Yeddyurappa speaks?” he told the media persons.
The BJP on Thursday demanded that CM Siddaramaiah should take up the moral responsibility and resign after his government has been charged of destroying crucial evidence related to M.K Ganapathi’s death.
Yeddyurappa in a press conference had alleged that Criminal Investigation Department “hurriedly gave a clean chit” to Bengaluru Development Minister K J George in connection with the case. He accused the former IPS officer Kempaiah, adviser to the Home Minister, of playing a key role in the destruction of evidence.
Yeddyurappa recalled that Ganapathi, a day before his death, had told local media channels in Madikeri that if anything happens to him George and two senior officers, Pronab Mohanty and A M Prasad, will be responsible for it.
Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah questioned on how BJP can demand CBI probe when the matter on Ganapathi’s death is pending before Supreme Court.
