Bengaluru, Aug 19: Janata Dal (Secular) national president H D Deve Gowda believes that the BJP and Congress in Karnataka share a nexus and are driven to destroy JD(S).
"Neither chief minister Siddaramaiah nor BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa have pointed out failures of each other’s parties. Both want to destroy JD(S)," he said, adding that JD(S) is strong enough to tackle both the parties.
"The Indian National Congress has been reduced to being ‘Siddaramaiah Congress’. Siddaramaiah has ignored the Congress party veterans and their voice has been silenced during his regime,” he ridiculed.
He stressed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should give interim relief to the state regarding the Mahadayi issue that could make drinking water available to the parched towns from North Karnataka region. "Though I have raised the issue to Modi, he chooses to remain silent," he said.
He also lashed out at the union government for lack of funds to celebrate Mahamastabhisheka at Shravanbelagola despite Jain community voting for the BJP.
