Bagalkot, Aug 14: On Sunday August 13, the woman who happens to be at the centre-stage of the sex CD scandal which forced former minister and local MLA, H Y Meti, to resign from his position, attempted suicide. After she consumed over ten sleeping pills, she was admitted into hospital.

The lady fell seriously ill after consuming sleeping pills. She was then admitted into the district hospital. Reports received on Sunday evening said she has shown impressive recovery and that she would be discharged from hospital in two to three days.

The family members of the woman, who stays in Navanagar here, had not observed that the woman had consumed excessive sleeping pills. They realized what had happened after she developed complications. Doctor at the hospital, Dr Vijaykumar, stated that she is out of danger.

The woman, who has always been in one or the other controversy since the issue hogged limelight, thus forcing the minister to quit, has now made indirect charge against the former minister. In the past, she used to say that Meti happens to be a father figure for her and indulging in unlawful activities with him was unimaginable. Now she has told the media that supporters of Meti had made threatening calls to her about two weeks back, and distressed over this call, she had tried to commit suicide. But she did not specifically say from whom she received the call.

The lady had threatened last month to make public the corrupt practices in district AYUSH hospital here, if she was not taken back to work after being absent work since the said controversy surfaced, within two days. Later, she had stayed away from the media even though she was not allowed to rejoin for duty. Now she has said that she will soon come out with all details relating to the said case.
