Mangaluru, Aug 14: Police personnel belonging to the city police commissionerate launched a drive against drunken driving on the night of Saturday August 12. During the entire night, they registered 91 cases of drunk driving and confiscated 21 vehicles.
The police had launched a special drive to detect drunken driving on Saturday night and had set up check posts at various spots within the commissionerate limits.
During the phone-in programme on Friday, several had complained about reckless and high speed driving by drivers under the influence of liquor. Deputy commissioner of police, Hanumantharaya, said that the drive against drunken driving to weed out this menace will continue.
