Mangaluru, Jul 23: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) organised a condemn meet against state government’s ‘Anti-Hindu’ policies at Sangha Nikethan here on Sunday, July 23.
The meeting started with floral tribute to the picture of Sharath Madiwala who was murdered recently by unknown assailants recently.
VHP regional secretary Vishnumurthy, RSS regional chief Sitharam, various Hindu leaders including MB Puranik, Bhujanga Kulal, Jagadeesh Shenava, Raghu Sakleshpur, and Gopal Kuthar were present.
In his speech Sitharam said, "Nowadays the forces from inside our country are attacking Hindus, Hindu culture and living style. In Karnataka, our government is always in favour of these forces. In Mangaluru, police have registered false cases on our leaders and members. But we are not afraid and our members are ready to face these cases. Our fight is against the anti-Hindu policies. We will not move back in our fight. Bhagath Singh, Sukhdev, Chandrashekar Azad are inspiration for us. Siddaramaiah and Ramanath Rai are acting like Ravana. While we condemn their anti-Hindu attitude, we also warn them that our Hindu community will teach them a lesson."
In his speech Jagadeesh Shenava said" The recent incidents of Kalladka started because of the failure of police. From the beginning itself, police followed one sided policy. So this meeting is a warning for police. Our organisation has the experience of facing the emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi. During this time we went to jail and faced the police brutality. We are not worried about the recent cases on our members. But the police should arrest the miscreants and terror supported organizations. "
“We boycotted the peace meet held at DC office because Ramanath Rai was present there. He is main person behind the communal disturbances. He had ordered the previous superintendent of police to arrest Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat. He is always batting in favour of anti-Hindu organisations. So there is no meaning for peace if he attends any meeting,"
MB Puranik said "Vishwa Hindu Parishad always wants peace in society and in our nation. The members of the organisation are always ready to protect our nation from the anti-social forces. Our government and district in-charge minister have planned to crush our members and organisation by using police. But we will not allow this. With blessings of our mothers and community, we will fight against this."
