Mangaluru Jul 19: The audio release of the much awaited Kannada film 'March 22' is all set to be held at Father Muller Convention Centre here on Thursday, July 20.
A standout amongst the most expected Kannada movies of the year, 'March 22', is produced by well-known Dubai-based entrepreneur Harish Sherigar and his wife Sharmila Sherigar under the banner ACME Movies International and directed by Kodlu Ramakrishna.
Addressing media here on Wednesday, July 19, Harish Sherigar said, "I never thought of steeping into film industry. I know Kodlu Ramakrishna from the past 10 years. This movie gives a good and thoughtful message to the society. Each character in the film is strong. There are a few veteran artistes in the film who have done a tremendous job. We have produced a top quality movie."
Kodlu Ramakrishna said that the concept of 'March 22' hit him 15 years ago. He said, "No producer came forward to produce the film. They were afraid of taking up the project as it was a difficult task of presenting the idea on screen. I knew Harish Sherigar and discussed the project with him. He decided to provide me the necessary budget and the film was completed in 60 days. He lent me and all members of the film the help we wanted and made sure that the movie would come out the best."
Veteran actor Anant Nag said, "According to many experts, the reason for the next war would be water. 'March 22' comprises socio-economical, rural and urban and human bonding, and all other areas possible. I play a character of a geologist which needs a lot of effort. Harish Sherigaar has made sure that we present a good movie for the audience."
Multi-lingual actor Ashish Vidyarthi said, "This has been an interesting journey for me. I agreed to do the film without knowing much about the subject. I also discovered a passion in Kodlu Ramakrishna which is missing in many of the directors nowadays. You need passion and guts to produce this type of a movie and Harish Sherigaar has proved this. This movie will go beyond how cinema is looked at here in our country."
Actor Jai Jagadish said, "Mine and Anant Nag was a hit combination and believe that this will continue with 'Match 22'. The subject of the film is very strong. The concept needed finance and a good director to handle. Harish-Ramakrishna combo has come forward to present such a wonderful movie."
Actor Sharath Lohitashwa spoke about his character and said, "I play the character of a politician. This is not an overtly commercial, but a sensitive film. To make such a film, you need to have courage which the director and producer have shown. It was good to share screen space along with Anant Nag. We have already starred in 5-6 movies together. Producer Harish Sherigar was calm throughout the movie, showing love and respect towards the entire cast and crew."
While Anant Nag will release the audio on July 20, Ashish Vidyarthi will release the teaser of the song.
