Kundapur, Jun 22: Krishibhoomi Ulisi Horata Samithi and CPM held protests in front of Municipal council office here on June 21 urging for the  repair of roads damaged due to drainage works in progress in the Municipal council limits. They also urged for shifting of drainage projects and purification units and appointment of permanent engineers in the municipality.

CPM secretary H Narasimha speaking on the occasion said that the residents of Matadabettu, Vaderahobali have been opposing the construction of waste collection unit, since 2014 which comes under the drainage project. “As more than 80  per cent of the waste gets accumulated in the seventh waste processing unit at Bettagara, Vaderahobali, it is detrimental to residents and farmers to live there. The work is in progress. As collection and purification units are essential, the officials should consider the objections immediately and then proceed," he said.

“A permanent engineer should be appointed. As suitable repair works have not been undertaken on roads damaged after drainage work, those have caused problems for people and vehicles. The anomalies should be set right soon," the protesters urged.

Krishibhoomi Ulisi Horata Samithi convener Rajesh V, municipal council member Gunarathna, leaders V Narasimha, K Shanker Mahabala Vaderahobali, Venkatesh Koni, Nagarathna Nada, Padmavathi and others were present.
