AMBALA, Mar 21: Alleged kingpin of the multi-crore kidney transplant racket Amit Kumar, on Thursday denied the charges framed by the CBI against him.
"I have not removed the kidney of any person on gun point. The kidneys were transplanted with the mutual consent of the donors and the beneficiaries", he said in the premises of the designated court where he was produced in connection with the case on Thursday.
Asked whether some political leaders were also involved in the scam as alleged by another accused in the case Upender earlier, he said he was not aware of it.
He alleged that the CBI had falsely implicated him in the case and now it was freezing his bank account in Canada without any justification.
He was produced in the court of Special CBI Magistrate, Abdul Majid along with the other 10 accused today who remanded them to judicial custody till April 2.
The other accused produced in the court included K K Aggarwal, Upender, Surz, Linda, a nurse of Amit Kumar's clinic, Manoj, Harpal, Ramesh, Suresh and Umesh.
Jeevan who is in police custody in Jaipur was not present in the court.
Pooja, wife of Jeevan, who was granted anticipatory bail for 30 days by this court also appeared in the court today with her face covered.
Talking to media persons, she said that her husband had nothing to do with this scam.
Asked whether she was aware of it that her husband was involved in illegal kidney trade, she replied in the negative and said her husband had not committed any crime.
