Dubai, Mar 19: Traffic in Bur Dubai was brought to a standstill yesterday as a man threatened to throw himself from the roof of a six-floor building.
The Arabic man (Egyptian) was on a building opposite Dubai Museum and scared passers-by who phoned police.
When they arrived the man insisted that he would not come down unless he could talk to Sheikh Mohammed. “The man was not willing to listen to the policeman who tried hard to convince the man to come down. The man insisted that he would end his life unless he is allowed to meet Sheikh Mohammed,” said an eyewitness.
However, another officer soon managed to persuade him to come down safely.
