Sharjah - Feb. 06: SHARJAH witnessed the coldest night of the current season so far on Tuesday as the temperature dropped to six degree Celsius.

Duty Forecaster at the Dubai International Airport weather Department, Dr SK Gupta said that Minhad also recorded the minimum temperature of six degree Celsius.

Attributing the current spell of cold conditions to the high pressure cell over Iran, he said that it leads to North Easterly wind across the UAE, dropping the temperatures significantly.

He said that similar weather conditions would prevail for next two days, adding that rains are not expected at least for one week.

Dubai was comparatively warm with the minimum temperature pegged at 12.2 degree Celsius.

Dubai recorded the maximum temperature of 19.2 degree Celsius while the mercury climbed up to 18.9 degree Celsius in Sharjah.

Abu Dhabi recorded the maximum temperature of 19 degree Celsius while minimum, 11 degree Celsius.

Both Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain recorded the maximum temperature of 18 degree Celsius while minimum, 9 degree Celsius.

He said that the mean minimum temperature in February is 15.4 degree Celsius while the mean maximum temperature during the period is 25.3 degree Celsius.
