- The community members across the state want the maker of the popular serial to apologize
Rajkot / Vadodara, Jan 8 (mb): Ekta Kapoor's Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi has kicked up a major storm, as members of the Vaishnav sect across Gujarat took offence at what they consider to be objectionable dialogues about Lord Krishna in an episode of the serial.
What has enraged the community leaders and religious heads of Vaishnav sect is a particular scene in an episode which showed a character Trupti Virani saying, Bhaad me gaye tumahare Thakorji (To do hell with your God). The agitated Vaishnav sect members are threatening to boycott all Ekta Kapoor serials if she does not offer an apology.
Protests have already been reported from all major cities of the state. A protest rally was staged at Junagadh and the sect members submitted a memorandum to the district collector, demanding that the director apologizes for the offensive remarks.
More than 2,000 followers of Vaishnav sect joined the rally which was organised under the aegis of Shri Navnitraiji Maharaj and International Pushtimargiya Sampraday.
All the Pushtimargiya Sampraday members and Vaishnavites were urged to join the rally. President of Gujarat chapter of Akhil Sadhu Samaj Gopalanandji said, “Such dialogues hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus, especially the Vaishnavites, and the director of the serial must tender an apology”.
Earlier on Thursday, agitated people took to the streets at Keshod in Junagadh district to lodge their protest against the director of the soap. There are plans to organise similar agitations at Amreli on Monday.
