Mangaluru, Sep 13: ‘Prima Primaria, started by Fr Jean Leunis SJ in the Roman College in 1563 became the first community of Sodalities of our Lady. These Sodalities soon sprung up all over the world. These lay communities were instrumental in preserving and transmitting the Ignatian Charism in all areas of life. The congregations had a powerful impact in social and moral life down through all these years. In 1967, the Prima Primaria transformed itself into ‘Christian Life Community’ and thus continues its uninterrupted transmission of the Ignatian Charism amongst the laity. Christian Life Community is not just a new name, given in 1967, but represented the rebirth, almost a new beginning.
