Kundapur, Aug 23: “Shouting slogans against Indian military and sovereignty amount to treason and strict actions should be taken against such elements. Amnesty International should be banned,” said ABVP divisional organizing secretary Thejasvi.
He was speaking after participating in protest held by ABVP Kundapur taluk at Kundapur Shastri circle.
“Amnesty International in Bengaluru in a programme held on August 13 had shouted slogans against the country and the Indian army. ABVP is protesting against it for the last ten days. We will be fighting legally in coming days. A delegation of ABVP also met the state governor with a request to take stringent action against the organization,” he said.
“The protests are being held so that the anti-India activities stop and the incident that happened in Bengaluru should not spread to Mangaluru and Kundapur. If traitors shout slogans against the country, we will shout slogans supporting the country and stand by the Indian army. Those who work against injustice are being assaulted. Incidents such as these should not occur in future,” he urged.
Thousands of students who gathered at Shastri circle shouted slogans against state government and Amnesty International and expressed their anguish.
Police were present to prevent any untoward incidents.
