Mangaluru, Aug 21: The anti-social 'Hoons" graffiti was found painted in embossing style on the compartment of train No. l70105 Margao Demu train from the city, which left the city station at 2.45 pm on Saturday August 20. This came as a shocker for the people and officials alike.
This writing is considered anti-social and this had been found painted through spray painting on the outer side of train compartments in Tamil Nadu and Kerala since the last some days.
This graffiti was first found written on a train compartment at Thiruchinapalli in Tamil Nadu on August 16 this year. Thereafter, the words, 'Rail Hoons' were found written on another train at Shoranur. The words, 'Rail Hoons', 'RHS' and 'DKS' were found spray-painted on three compartments of Dhanbad-Alappuzha train which arrived at Shoranur Junction station on Friday afternoon.
The railway department is not aware who, how, and why are the people indulging in this act. The first of the writings was noticed on August 16 morning, which in affect, means that someone wrote the word on the night of August 15, when tight security was in place because of Independence Day celebrations. Therefore, the immediate perception is that there was some lapse on the part of railway security.
It is learnt that railway officials have ordered an inquiry into this episode. Railway protection force officials here said close watch is being kept to find out the culprits.
Before anything can be written on railway coaches, prior permission of the department is necessary. Therefore, the guilty will be acted against, railway sources added.
