Mangaluru, Aug 19: Head constable of Civil Rights Enforcement Directorate in the city, Ratnakar J K (56), suffered heart attack while driving his car on Thursday August 18, and breathed his last.
Ratnakar was moving in a Maruti Omni vehicle on Thursday morning. He suffered heart attack when moving near Navbharat Circle. He was immediately taken to a hospital but he had breathed his last by then.
Ratnakar is survived by wife and son. He was a resident of Mulihithlu in the city and had served police department for 33 years. He was serving the district armed reserve police force in the past, before being deputed to Civil Rights Enforcement Directorate about 12 years back.
It is said that Ratnakar wanted to buy a new car out of insurance maturity proceeds he had received recently. One of his colleagues was with him. He was on his way to buy the new car when he suffered heart attack.
The body was handed over to the family after the body was kept in front of the office of the city police commissioner and last respects were paid.
