Bengaluru, Aug 17: A woman was killed by her own husband, who suspected her character, by smothering her at Rarajeshwarinagar here on the night of Monday August 15. At the same time, a woman from Subrahmanyapura was murdered by hitting her head with a rod. Policemen have arrested the accused in both cases.
Chand bi (24), resident of Jawaregowdanadoddi in Rajarajeshwarinagar was murdered allegedly by her husband, Chand Pasha (28). Pasha, who killed his wife at around 2.30 am on Tuesday and was running away thereafter, was arrested with the help of locals, policemen said.
Pasha who hails from Yadagiri, had come to the city about ten years back. He had later married Chand Bi, and the couple had got two children in course of ti,e. The children were left at Yadagiri, and Chand Pasha worked as painter while his wife worked in a garments factory.
Chand Pasha often fought with his wife of late, as he was suspecting her character. After the couple fought on this issue on Monday night, Pasha killed his wife by smothering her when she was asleep.
Some persons killed Urmila Devi (28) by hitting her head with a rod at Konanakunte Cross on Chunchanakatte Main Road in Subrahmanyapura. In this connection, the lady's husband, Sanjayprasad Gupta (34), stands arrested.
Sanjay from Uttar Pradesh had married Urmila 12 years back. They have two children, both of whom are mentally challenged. Sanjay, who sells Panipuri byt the roadside, stated that he found his wife in a pool of blood when he returned home at 10.30 pm on Monday. Although Urmila was rushed to KIMS Hospital, she did not respond and died a little after midnight. The children could not help in giving any information, policemen said. They took the woman's husband into custody on suspicion, for questioning. A case about this murder was registered in Subrahmanyapura police station.
