Bengaluru, Aug 13: Thieves broke into S S Electronics shop on S P Road near S J Park in the city on the night of Thursday August 11, and took away nine lac rupees in cash and cellphones worth several lacs of rupees.
The theft came to light on Friday morning. Owner of the shop, Narsi, said in a police complaint that nine lac rupees in cash and over 40 mobile phones have been stolen. The thieves are seen to have damaged CCTV cameras in the shop before indulging in theft. They also took away the digital video recorder of the shop.
Narsi, who has been running his shop since the last nine years, has been into wholesale sale of mobile phones.
After receiving complaint, policemen employed sniffer dogs and finger print experts to the spot. Several people including owner of shop, two workers, and employees of neighbouring shops are being questioned. Policemen said that they are also verifying footage of CCTV cameras of nearby shops and organizations.
This shop had been burgled in 2012 too. The policemen had identified five thieves from Rajasthan as culprits based on CCTV camera footage and arrested them. The police believe that those who were aware of the functioning of this shop have committed this burglary.
