Tokyo, Feb 1 (IANS): Japan shares opened the trading Monday higher on the Bank of Japan's further monetary easing decision, as well as on gains in the US stocks market.
At 9.15 a.m. (local time), the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average jumped 284.35 points, or 1.62 percent, higher from Friday to 17,802.65, XInhua reported.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 21.94 points, or 1.53 percent, to 1, 454.01.
