Mangaluru, Jan 12: Father Muller Medical College, Mangaluru under the South India unit of UNESCO chair in Bioethics (Haifa) will conduct National level seminar -Psychopharminar 2016, Bio Ethics Update for Medical Students and National level Inter-Medical Collegiate Bioethics Skit Competition. This was revealed by Dr Princy Louis Palatty, head, south India unit UNESCO chair Bioethics at FMMC at a press meet held here at press club on January 12.
Addressing the media Dr Princy Louis said "The South India Unit Of the UNESCO chair in Bioethics, at Father Muller Medical College, is conducting three programmes on January 17 Psychopharminar 2016, seminar on psychopharmacology is being conducted for the third time in succession. It is the sign of a successful collaboration of two mega institutions with likeminded purposive foray to empower and impart knowledge. Each time there are additional features added to make it worthwhile for attendees, quiz for postgraduate and paper presentation for PG and staff. The resource persons are handpicked having knowledge Commitment and dedication to this focused area."
The Bioethics update for medical undergraduate is a pertinent move to spread awareness of the topic, not only by speakers of International repute but also student presentation (with prizes to be won). This is followed by skit competition on bioethical issues that will help to translate the impact of Bioethics in society and stimulate the corrections of aberration in unethical behavior. There will be participants from Mangaluru as well as other states.Chancellor of Nitte university N Vinay Hegde will be the chief guest while Director of FMCI Fr Patrick Rodrigues will preside over Psychopharminar 2016."
