Designer salutes free-spirited women with 'On The Way'

New Delhi, July 14 (IANS): Designer Gautam Gupta's autumn-winter 2015 collection titled “On The Way” is an ode to the journey of free-spirited women with a vision to explore unknown lands.

Keeping his signature style of prints and vibrant hues in mind, the Delhi-based designer has launched his line under his western label Autre.

“The story recounts the journey of a free-spirited woman with a vision to explore the unknown lands. She wanders out alone and stumbles upon the most picturesque places the earth has to offer with diverse cultures and ethnicities,” Gupta said in a statement.

“The collection takes inspiration from the travellers' self-contentment and the love and happiness that blossom as she experiences more with every breath,” he added.

The philosophy of the line revolves around the aesthetics and sensibilities of a stylish yet carefree woman of today’s day and age, and so, the silhouettes express comfort with a balanced structured feel.

There is a minimalist approach to the bohemian designs with a combination of earthy shades of desert taupe and vibrant hues of orange ade and champaign beige.

The fabrics vary from Silk Corduroy and Hammered Silk with a hint of stripes and tribal prints.

The highpoint of the line are the surface textures embellished with materials like jute dori, pom-pom and appliqué of georgette and satin.
