Los Angeles, May 16 (IANS): Actor Nick Cannon says he isn't trying to get attention by praising Mariah Carey and says the singer is an "amazing person".
The "America's Got Talent" host, who split from the "#Beautiful" hitmaker last summer after six years of marriage, recently praised her for being a "wonderful and nurturing" mother to their four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, and insists he had no ulterior motives.
"Obviously I didn't do it to kind of get any acknowledgement or anything. It was the truth. She's an amazing mother, she's an amazing person. We all know that, the world knows that Mariah's amazing," he told eonline.com when asked about his gushing Mother's Day message.
In the touching post earlier this month, the 34-year-old actor wrote: "Gotta represent for the Mother of my children. She is such a wonderful, thoughtful, festive, loving and nurturing Soul. I will forever be in debt to you for blessing me and the rest of the world with Roc & Roe.
"A true #Queen. Will love you always @MariahCarey #HappyMothersDay (sic)."
The former couple recently sparked rumours they are trying to rebuild their marriage after Cannon described his estranged spouse as the "love of his life".
Asked if he would consider reuniting with her, he said: "It's one of those things, I'm a hopeless romantic too. Through this learning process, you never say never.
"...One thing I know, that will always be the love of my life, always be my family and that's never going to change."
