Mumbai, April 23 (IANS): A verse from music composing duo Sachin-Jigar's song "Laadki", which is based on emotions in a father-daughter relationship, was sung by Sachin's seven-year-old daughter Tanishka in the show "MTV Coke studio".
"Laadki" is based on emotions shared between father and daughter, wherein the latter is getting married and will soon move out of the house. The song celebrates the emotions of the girl who tells her father that wherever she goes, she will be with him.
"I still remember when Tanishka sang the birthday tune for me on my birthday in perfect pitch. It was the best gift ever. I knew she can sing but to stand alongside mighty talented artists was another thing. But when we performed the song at the studio, she was calm and her poise surprised us all," Sachin said in a statement.
Talking about the show, Sachin said that he loves "MTV Coke Studio", which is a platform that allows one to "experiment."
"You can do these experiments with the show. This song is very close to my heart as it talks of a father and daughter bond and pushes the point that daughters never leave. Tanishka is my pillar and always will be," he added.
The vocals for the song "Laadki" have been penned by Kirtidan Gadhvi and Rekha Bhardwaj.
