Mangaluru, Apr 12: The Ullal police who raided an illegal slaughter house in Chembugudde near Ullal seized 7 live and 4 slaughtered animals from the place . Four accused managed to run away from the place.
M C Bawa, his brother M C Khadar, and two other unidentified persons are the accused.
Police raided the said slaughter house on Sunday, April 12 after receiving some credible information about the illegal slaughtering at the place. Two of them were cutting the meat into pieces and the other two were preparing to go to deliver the meat by scooter when the police arrived at the spot. The two who were on the scooter, left the scooter on the spot abondoned and ran away when they spotted the police.
The same slaughter house was raided on November 14 last year and police had seized about hundred kilograms of meat. Four persons were also arrested then. The persons got bail after that. The meat seized today is greater than before.
M C Bawa is said to be in the same business for years.
The persons who are accused in cases like this should be stopped from carrying on the same business while on bail, said some locals.
