Kundapur, Apr 10: Thieves broke into two insurance companies on Wednesday night, April 8 and decamped with large amount of cash. It seems on the onset that it was the work of those who were familiar of the place. It is significant that the incidents have occurred on the very day the DGP visited Kundapur.
Thieves entered the United Insurance Company branch near Basrur Moorkai after breaking the rods of the window and stole Rs 34,857. The branch was closed on Wednesday April 8 at 6.15 pm. The matter came to light when the staff came for work on April 9 morning and found the broken window. They found the records on the cash counter scattered. The branch manager Muralidhar alleged that it was the handiwork of people who knew the place well.
Meanwhile, thieves also broke into another insurance company near Kundapur Parijat hotel. They enter the premises after breaking the shutters and decamped with Rs 68,602.
It is suspected that the same thieves have robbed both the places. They have taken away as much cash as possible from both the places.
Forensic experts and dog squad arrived at the places and conducted investigation. DySP Manjunatha Shetty, PCI Diwaker, and police station inspector Nasir Hussain visited the place and are conducting investigation.
Thefts had become less in Kundapur in recent times. After serial thefts in Byndoor and Koteshwar, it was the turn of these two insurance companies.
You both r the Insurance company u can claim 2 lakhs or more ........ from policy.
yeh andar ki baat hai ...
The thieves badly need above one lakh for urgency.
