Rio de Janeiro, March 14 (IANS): Fluminense admitted that Juventus-target Gerson could be sold by the end of the year for financial reasons.
The Brazilian football club has already rejected a seven million-euro bid for Gerson, who has also been linked to Manchester City, reports Xinhua.
Another player on the radar of European clubs is 19-year-old striker Kenedy, a reported target of Barcelona and Manchester United.
"There are clubs looking at them and we've received a series of proposals. The idea is that they are still with us next year and that they play regular first-team football for the club," Fluminense vice-president Mario Bittencourt said.
"But football clubs have bills to pay. We have to pay for debts accrued in the past with money from the present. That's why sometimes you have to let 1-2 players go."
Kenedy joined Fluminense in 2013 and has made 24 appearances for the Rio de Janeiro outfit. Gerson has played just four first-team matches after rising through the club's youth ranks.
