Shimla, March 10 (IANS): Himachal Pradesh Health Minister Kaul Singh said on Tuesday that swine flu in the state was under control.
The mass awareness campaign launched in the state to tackle swine flu has brought good results and people are taking necessary preventive measures as a result of which the situation is under control, the minister said in a statement.
Official sources said till date, 14 people have died due to the flu.
While eight people died in the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMCH) in Shimla, five died in the Rajendra Prasad Medical College at Tanda in Kangra district.
The minister, who reviewed the situation at a meeting here, said 34 patients having symptoms of swine flu had been treated.
A few of them are undergoing treatment, he added.
