Kasargod, Feb 25: In connection with the murder of a youth named Muhammed Sakir (21) at Kumble town after dispute arose over a game of football on Sunday February 22, Kumble police continue to investigate the case from all angles. They are making wholehearted efforts to nab the accused.
In the meanwhile, local MLA, N A Nellikunnu, and Muslim League state unit vice president, C T Ahmedali, were stopped by a gang when the two came here to take part in the funeral of the deceased youth. The gang, it is said, blocked the entry of Indian Union Muslim League leaders, and pressurized them to name Ashraf Karle, one of the chief organizers of the football tournament at Kumble, as an accused and arrest him immediately.
The police, who rushed to the spot immediately after learning about the incident, succeeded in leading both of them to safety.
The police teams are looking for Basith, residing near Shantipalla, Ashraf, leader of Pravasi League, Lohi Siddique from Karle Arikkady, and Farooq and Fayaz from Kozhippady, against whom a case stands registered in relation to this murder.
